Is Your Existing Slab Ready to Be Polished?

Pulling up old tiles or carpet doesn’t automatically reveal a floor ready for polishing — what’s underneath is a genuine unknown until it’s actually assessed. Previous walls, fixing holes, patch repairs and old adhesive residue are common, and the slab’s history affects what a grinding crew can realistically achieve. A representative trial section, rather than a single hopeful corner, is the only reliable way to see how your specific floor will respond to grinding, what aggregate is present and how visible any repairs will be. Where a slab genuinely isn’t suited to direct polishing, alternatives like an overlay are usually a better answer than pushing ahead regardless.
