Share the programme early
Provide the builder with the floor scope, machine access and edge-work requirements. Cabinetry, partitions and glazing can change what is accessible.
Separate preparation and final finish
Some projects can separate stages; others cannot. Ask the flooring contractor to define which stages depend on the room being clear, dry or isolated.

Plan protection and handover
Agree who supplies suitable protection and who checks it. Avoid assuming any tape or covering is safe for a new finish. Keep product cure and return-to-use guidance with the programme.
Take this to your assessment
Bring photographs and a short description of how the space is used. Ask which assumptions need a site visit or trial, and have the agreed answer included in the written scope.
This guide supports project planning. Confirm the selected products, substrate requirements and installation instructions with the supplier.
