Responding to Spills and Stains the Right Way

Polished concrete resists staining far better than most flooring, but that protection buys you time to respond, it doesn’t make a spill harmless if it’s left sitting. Wine, oil and grease are the most common culprits, and the right response is usually straightforward: lift it promptly with the floor’s approved cleaning method rather than reaching for whatever’s under the sink. Acidic and abrasive products can etch or dull a sealed surface, so identifying what you’re dealing with matters before you start treating it. Deep staining and chemical etching are different problems again, and not every mark can be fully removed without affecting the surrounding finish — worth knowing before you attempt a fix yourself.
